About the SoLo Travel Program

The SoLo Winter Travel Program competes annually in the Loudoun County Middle School League.

The Loudoun County Middle School Travel League offers a competitive environment for players who want to challenge themselves and represent their middle school.  Middle School Travel teams are formed with players from their respective Loudoun County Middle Schools to participate against other Middle School teams throughout Loudoun County.  Most of the games are played on Sundays throughout Loudoun County.

Travel Program Winter Participation

The Players selected to the travel program are expected to make SoLo travel their first priority during the winter travel season to include practices, games and tournaments.  Players who consistently miss practices, games and tournaments for other sports or activities will be subject to removal from the team without a refund of the league or travel fees.

Teams will have up to two practices per week, scheduled for 75-90 minutes in length.  Practices are typically scheduled in SoLO-area gyms, but may occasionally be scheduled in gyms outside the SOLo area due to space limitations.  In addition to the practices, all travel teams will be scheduled for a minimum of four (4) training sessions with the designated travel trainer organization.  The training sessions will be scheduled at the trainer’s facilities outside of the SOLoarea.

Travel teams will be scheduled for games by the respective leagues.    Loudoun Middle School games are usually played Sunday afternoons, with occasional Saturday and weeknight games.  Loudoun games are scheduled in gyms throughout Loudoun County, typically scheduled in a centrally-located part of the county.   The posted schedules for each league are final and cannot be changed with the exception of changes due to inclement weather.

In addition to league play, the travel teams are expected to play in 1-3 tournament during the winter season which may be inclusive of the holidays (Thanksgiving and Winter Break.)  Players who commit to the travel program are also committing to these tournament games and are expected to attend during these breaks.

All players are expected to abide by the South Loudoun Basketball Code of Conduct.
